An Errand Filled Day

TWENTY FIVE

These are all the places I went today:

Wells Fargo
US Bank
Target
Punch Pizza
Gas station
The General Store Cafe
Tonka Ski and Cycle
Eden Prairie Center
Target again
MHS Black Box
Opitz
HOME.

Thats a LOT of driving. I spent The General Store Cafe through Opitz and the drives in between with JK; we had some great catch up time and gossiped a lot. I love that girl. Spent Punch with PH, we got free pizza and he got interviewed by Channel 9 news on the game last night. It made me laugh. At Opitz I got a great deal: new jeans, and a sundress for summer/Mexico spring break. Now all I can think about is Mexico. Summer. FREEDOM. I can't wait.

P.S. If I had Photoshop this picture would look WAY sweeter. It's going on my list of photos to edit. I need Photoshop asap before this list becomes unmanageable.

All Girls Football Party... Oxymoron?

TWENTY FOUR

NO. It is not an oxymoron. Worked 12 to 5 after church, then went over to KL's to watch the game with all the girls, the boys were having a "bro sesh" and there were no girls allowed. We got SUPER into the game. Most did anyway. LR and MC were super intense and were close to tears at the end. We then switched houses because the boys said they wanted to hang out, so we get to house #2 and the boys decide to continue bro sesh. What were we to do? Crash. Duh. So we hunted them down with the help of HR and got to watch/play boot hockey with them. It was a great night.

BONUS PICTURE!

No, I didn't take this. But it's cute so I thought I would share. Courtesy of MC. :-)
(L to R) KG, RS, KS, KL, PH sneaked in the back, then MC, GS, and moi.

Sigh of Relief

TWENTY THREE

I'm just going to quick say that I almost had a heart attack just now. Before uploading today's picture to my computer, I checked my phone to make sure I had the upload date right. And it read 1-24-10. I freaked out, thinking I forgot a day because I had just written my day 22 blog. Day 22 to uploading on the 24th messed my brain up, then I realized it was past midnight, and I had actually taken my day 23 picture on the 23rd. Sigh of relief.

Back to today. Basically I got up, worked 10 to 3, then went to Opitz with EF to look for a Sweethearts (sadie hawkins type dance at MHS) dress for her, and I tried some on too... Then home to relax and then I babysat my two favorite girls, L (blonde hair, blue eyes, 5 years old) and C (brown hair, brown eyes, 8 years old) from 6 to 1130. We had bath time for like an HOUR and then watched Flubber. Good times. I like it when they (FINALLY) fall asleep. :-) Here's the cutie L off in dreamland.

Dear... Weekend?

TWENTY TWO

What a long day Friday was. Physics final (not as easy as I hoped) then Psyc final (as deadly as I assumed. We got there and sat down and someone asked if the automatic 50% policy applied to finals. That's the rule that the lowest grade you can get on a test is 50% so that when you fail, it doesn't completely ruin your grade). Then Chipotle with friends, which was mellow and nice, then DH and PH took PH's car through the car wash where DH works and I went along for the ride. Then Ski Club! It was a good night. Until some middle schooler took my ski bag instead of theirs. I was very very NOT happy. But I'm better now, as long as I get all my stuff back. Crappy picture, I know. I was in bed at 11:53 and realized I had no picture. It's a great book: READ IT BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE. Movies can never do a book justice. EVER.

Two To Go!

TWENTY ONE

Today I had my AP Stats final (B+ thank you very much... I was surprised!) and my Digital Imaging final. Digital was super relaxed and fun and easy, we had quiet time while we weren't on the computers. PH was a loner and sat under the table playing a game and listening to music. It made me laugh.

Only two more finals to go! Physics in the morning (EASY!) and Psychology before lunch... Psyc will be difficult. I am not excited. Wish me luck!!

$25 Richer... In Nickels.

TWENTY

AD and I shared house sitting responsibilities a while back and got a $50 check to split, so he went to the bank to cash it and give me my $25. He shows up at school the next day at handed me a bag full of rolls of nickles and a $5 bill. I got to carry around $20 in nickles for the whole day. My backpack was very heavy.

Did actual studying Wednesday night, had my AP Stats final to worry about!

Tongue

NINETEEN

Tuesday was another day of studying, sort of. JK came over to "finish our physics packet," which I had no intention of doing. Although I still got a good page done. JK did slightly less. ;-)

It came to be like 10:30 and I realized I forgot to take a picture of JK and I like I planned. SO. Max became my model. He stuck out his tongue at me and it made me laugh. I was tired and easily amused.

And... GO!

EIGHTEEN

Monday was a day to recuperate. I was SO sore. But it was a good sore, the kind of sore that showed I actually worked my body. :-)
I basically sat around all day and watched TV and did physics and stats homework. Mostly physics. Dad came up to me a few times and just said, "You look out of it, Babe." Thanks Dad, thanks.

The Lord's Beauty

SEVENTEEN

This is why I love Spirit. I wish I had my camera on me, but I didn't. Yay for a camera phone! (LG, I feel like you). This picture can't do it justice. Perfectly clear day with an AMAZING sunset lit sky overlooking Duluth and Lake Superior. SO beautiful. SB took a picture too, she is in the lower left.

I learned how to snowboard Sunday too, which was actually super fun. I was already exhausted from Friday and Saturday, but I did it anyway and it was exciting. Thanks to JK and RK for teaching me, and SB for switching skis for board. :-)

Road Trip in a TINY Car

SIXTEEN

After getting home at like 1130, I woke up at 630 to be out of the house by 745 to drive up to Spirit Mountain. PH's mom dropped him at my house and off we were, with Dani Kate and Mom, to Spirit. Lets just say that two teenagers do NOT fit well in one half of the backseat of my little two door car. Mom and Dani Kate got front, and he rear passenger seat had to be folded down for skis. So... PH and I were stuck in 1.5 seats in the back. It was a long trip.

Here is a VERY lovely picture of (L to R) CV, JK, and myself on our way from the hill to go eat dinner at the church we were staying at. Gotta love hat hair. CV likes to make funny faces and be weird in general.

This is the sunset we saw from the church we were staying at. Pretty, no?

Do You Have Your Exit Buddy?

FIFTEEN

First night of Ski Club!! So. Much. Fun. Myself, JL, KG, PH, JH, and DH hung out all night while RS and KL taught themselves how to ski (better). I conquered the wall at Wild and got home just in the nick of time to take a picture of my favorite necklace. :-) It always lays close to my heart.

Packing Extravaganza

FOURTEEN

Thursday was my packing night. I had to pack for ski club after school Friday, and then Ski Blitz Saturday to Sunday, but I had things that I needed for both, so I couldn't pack all that I wanted and it was just a LOT of planning/packing to do. After packing I needed a picture and decided to play with the macro setting on my camera. I love macro, if you haven't figured out already.

What Makes God Smile?

THIRTEEN

Church tonight!!! Here is baby MJ playing with her momma. We were very ADD tonight and did very little Bible discussion, which is okay, it's a hard week for us all with finals prep. We needed some relaxation time with the baby of our group.

Also FINALLY did the Christmas exchange with (from L to R) JK, myself, SF, KS, and MC. It took us a while, but we finally go to it! I didn't take this picture, but it's an extra for the day. Sorry for my late posts...

P.S. WE make God smile.

A Flash of Red

TWELVE

Tuesday I had to frantically take pictures for my diptych/triptych Digital Imaging assignment. None of them are exactly what I was looking for, but I got some shots I really like. And again, I worked at the Cafe, this time with CM. We had good gossip times. We got paid for 2 hours of gossip and one hour of work. I love my job.

It's Not You, It's Me

ELEVEN

Monday I basically wrote my whole cliche essay for AP Composition. I got the idea for it while watching How I Met Your Mother with JK. Ted had to break up with his girlfriend and the characters had a whole conversation about break up cliches and it was hilarious. I sat up and was like, THAT'S MY ESSAY!!! I got really excited. So that's what I wrote it on. Break up cliches and How I Met Your Mother. Besides that I worked with LM at the Cafe. We had a good time, the boss was still out of town. :-)

Typical

TEN

Today was annoying. I had to work after church, which I never like doing. But after the chef left, us girls turned up the radio and had a dance party as we scrubbed the floors. Yay for the boss being out of town. We were respectful to customers, don't worry. They couldn't hear the music and we always had someone on the line to serve. We ARE responsible employees after all. ;-)

Here is Sawyer Baby (for you LG!) about 20 minutes ago. He likes to sleep and didn't appreciate the flash in his eyes. (Flash is annoying. But he's a black dog... It was needed).

WORK WORK WORK

NINE

I worked my first Saturday in 3 weeks today. I missed it. Sort of. It was really slow though, so that was nice. We girls got some good gossip time in.

Went to KD's house for her (late) 18th birthday party. We had non alcoholic drinks (mojito's and margarita's and the like) and enchilada's and the most amazing ice cream pie ever. Above is the group minus LA who had to leave. Sad day.

Friday = Freedom

EIGHT

Friday was good. Mellow and yet not... It was perfect. I went to crew and thats always fun. Then PH and I went to see a band from school play at The Depot. Then we were off to HR's for Paranormal Activity. SCARY MOVIE. I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares. My first picture is of a lantern in The Depot. It was very dark.

This shows how shaky the whole room was. I put my camera on a... 5(?) second shutter speed and didn't move it at all once the shutter was released. The vibrations from the band made it do this. It was insanely loud for such a small space.

Back to the Shop

SEVEN

This week is the first week I've been strictly building in the shop all year. I missed it so much. For Much Ado About Nothing (MA for short) we are building our own seating and our own stage. So. That's a LOT of platforms. 18 3'x8' platforms, a second floor balcony, and huge Cyprus trees. This set is going to be AMAZING. Wish us luck.

Above is HR and SN building one of the platforms. 2x4's can be very very difficult to work with sometimes. SN had some serious issues keeping them in line. HR just likes to look angry sometimes... He's a weird one.

Oh What a Wednesday...

SIX

I'm tired.

Gotta read over 100 pages in Black Boy by Friday. And finish 2 days of math homework. And write my Cliche essay by next Wednesday. And answer two free response questions for Psyc by Friday. And... Get better at deliberately doing homework. Next week.

Egg Drop Domination

FIVE

So... we rocked it. Completely. 3 meters? No big deal. 4 meters? No big deal. 5 meters? Scary, but no big deal. It was down to my group and another, and we figured out a way to reach 6 meters. And guess what? Both eggs survived. My class rocks. :-) So now we are trying to find a place INSIDE (its freezing out) where we can reach 7 and 8 meters. Wish us luck.

Here is our egg catcher before we put it back together after a drop. It tends to explode a little bit.. It's all in the genius of the design! Haha.

DH dropping from 6 meters!!!! Don't miss!

Our amazing group. Me, DH, and RS from left to right.

First Day Back

FOUR

School started again today. It was a weird day. My first and third hour teachers either had a family member die or one dying, so that showed. And it was just weird. Just really really weird. I can't even explain it.

EGG DROP!
RS, DH, and I are a FANTASTIC group for our egg drop in Physics. We got to start building our egg catcher last week, because we were awesome and went to first hour on Wednesday. So we are a step ahead on the competition. ;-)

Here is our egg in RS's hand, and DH setting up our catcher for the 2 meter drop.

Here is the aftermath. Yes, it did tip over, but our egg was safe and sound!!!! Protected by our genius application of physics principles and laws. Gotta love it. Tomorrow we are on to 3, 4 and 5 meter drops. Results to follow.

Christmas #4...

THREE

Today we had christmas with my dad's side of the family. Which, for us, was our 4th Christmas. Christmas Eve and Christmas day we did stuff with just the four of us because of the snow. Then last Sunday we had Christmas with Mom's family, today was Dad's. Christmas #4. Good haul too, I'm quite happy. The cousins and Dani Kate and I had some great Wii adventures.

This morning I went to church for the first time in a few weeks, I missed it a lot. I sat RIGHT next to the stage and could barely see a thing. Just JK dancing and singing away for the congregation. So this is what I saw during the service, only I was more fascinated by the sun coming through the window and shining on the dust in the air. It looked like glitter falling from the ceiling and was GORGEOUS, but my camera couldn't pick it up. :-( Still a pretty picture though, I like it.

So I thought I would give ya'll the background to why I'm doing this project in the first place. LG and PH started their own 365 projects last March, and SB and I loved the idea. So we decided to start our own for the year of 2010. With senior year and graduation and first semester of college, we thought it would be fun. So SB is my bud in this endeavor, her blog is called 525,600 Minutes. In case you are curious, PH's is The 365 Day Endeavor and LG's is In Light of a Year. PH is starting over with SB and I this year, because he failed in his last attempt. Good luck on this time around, PH. :-)

Brr... and colder temperatures still to come

TWO

It. Is. Cold.

Really cold. I should be used to this, I've survived 18 Minnesota winters. But no. I'm a freeze-baby and shall always be cold. Life is grand. :-)

Today was cold. -11 degrees right now, not including wind chills. Lovely. Besides the frigid air, LG and I braved the sub-zero temperatures and went to AVATAR!!!! I FINALLY saw it. Only took 4 tries. :-) It was so amazing. I wanna see it in IMAX even more badly now. It's incredible. Words cannot describe.

Avatar was AFTER the insane house cleaning I did this morning. I cleaned my room and got everything off the floor (which is why everything was on my bed...) so that Mom could vacuum when I got home. Yes, I offered to do it myself but she shooed me away. Vacuuming ensued when I arrived home and I've been sitting here ever since, minus a short trip to PH's where we sat with his mom and sis and watched The Proposal for like 45 minutes (I told you it was short).

I promise my site will become much more awesome. Eventually. I have no Photoshop and my computer sucks, so I'm working on it. (Hopeful) greatness awaits.

The Beginning!

ONE

So here it is. My first post of the new year. Well, my first post ever. This is my project for the year: one picture a day for a year. I'm really excited for it, this year is a huge one for me. I'm graduating in June (6-10-2010), going off to the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire (moving in 8-29-10), stage managing the spring show (Jesus Christ Superstar?? Opening mid April), and nannying all summer long for two adorable little girls. There are going to be lots of changes, and it's going to be awesome. :-)

Below is my picture for yesterday, January 01, 2010:

Yesterday was insane. I woke up and did some major cleaning after my party the night before. Then LG and I went to see Avatar at EP... It was sold out. That was my third attempt to see it. Third time isn't the charm I guess. So then we went back to her house and watched Pocahontas. A FANTASTIC alternative if you ask me. Then I went off to CV's to play Wii and Disney Scene It with KS and AR. I love Disney. To top the night off, I traveled to BS's for the end of Iron Man and iRobot. What a movie filled day. The above picture is from BS's house. He's got this constantly full jar of candy that always looks amazing. Except for the chocolate Laffy Taffy. That's weird. Below are our movies for the evening.
