FAIL

EIGHTY EIGHT

Yes... I know. BUT!!! I made it farther than PH or SB. I actually had pictures for up through a month after my last post, but my phone freaked out and deleted all. That's the truth, I promise. After I realized they were all gone, I said screw it.

Senior year has been CRAZY towards the end. But with AP exams over and classes pretty much pointless, it has gotten much easier.

I no longer work at the General Store Cafe! I can't work there over the summer while nannying L & C, so I decided to end my time at the Cafe mid-May so that my last two weeks of high school could be work-related stress free. I am now able to go to the last band concert, last orchestra concert, and plan my weekends as I choose, on my own time. I love it. :-)

Come June 14th I will start my summer with L & C. It looks to be a busy one, but we'll have a great time.

We got yearbooks today, and they are GORGEOUS. Props to the yearbook team this year, they are amazing. I think its a book I'll always be able to go back to and find something new, but it doesn't feel cluttered. The pictures are (mostly) of good quality and they show a wide variety of all kids at our school. It is a yearbook I'll bring to UWEC and be proud to say THIS is my high school. :-)

Flipping through it I saw 3 pictures of SE right off the bat. He passed away 5 weeks ago and it's great to be able to go through the book and see his smiling face and beautiful FRO. Love you, Sean!

BIG NEWS. The free iPod touch with a Macbook Pro deal came out yesterday at Apple. HOPEFULLY I'll get my Macbook for college soon. :-) My excitement is reaching a new high! Soon I'll be able to create a beautiful header for the blog, AFTER I learn how to actually use the computer... GD is up for the challenge.

I think that's all the updates I have for now... I'll be sure to keep posting regularly, but for SURE not daily. The countdown will still go on, I will still get 365 memories in this thing!! You will always get a picture or two with posts, maybe only a picture. I won't leave you high and dry too often!

Hosanna to the Most Highest

EIGHTY SEVEN

I don't work today. :-) It made me really happy. I usually work Sunday's and I hate it. SO.. I didn't today! I went to church where the girls performed their Signs of Praise song and waved palm branches in honor of our Lord and Savior entering into Jerusalem for the last week of his life. They did wonderfully and were adorable! Then I came home and did homework (Max came and visited me and sat right there watching. He looks a little bit freaky in this picture, but he heard something just as I was taking the picture and moved). Then me, Dani Kate, and Mom got pedicures before SPRING BREAK (1, 2, 3... only 4 days til I'm on a plane to MEXICO)!!!! Now I'm updating the blog! And I'm done. Now for homework and maybe watching Life on the Discovery Channel with MC, MB, and NC. We'll see how homework progresses.

Oh gosh. Here is a really ridiculous story.
KS sent me a picture of her hair that she did. She finally got it to curl and was really exciting, but to me, it looked NOTHING like her. And still doesn't to me. Her hair looks EXACTLY like MC's. KS's hair is darker than MC's, and this head of hair is EXACTLY MC's color. I don't know, maybe I'm going crazy. But I'm still super confused by it. Decide for yourselves, for those of you who know them: KS or MC?

Okay, looking at it now it looks like KS.

Saturday Extravaganza

EIGHTY SIX

Saturday was BUSY. Holy cow. Here it goes: Rehearsal on the main stage with the set from 9 to 10, then rehearsal with the pit in the band room from 10 to 11:45. Then girls makeup training sessions from 11:45 to 12:15, and men's makeup training from 12:15 to 12:45. Then home for 10 minutes, back to the high school (I forgot my wallet) then off to the spa from 2 to 3:30. Home for relaxation and recuperation. MC, KL, and I played listened to music and talked then MC and I played Wii and then we were off to OC at 7:30(second night in a row!) for AG's 18th birthday party! Then a bunch of kids came over after to hang out and watch TV/talk. It was really mellow.

Above is AW, KG hiding under a blanket (she was feeling anti-social. She gets that way after too much social contact), and MC not paying attention in the background.

BONUS PICTURES!!!

Beautiful LJ and KH. LJ's makeup was WAY too dark and orange. It was the exact color of KH's hair. SO FUNNY. Those poor boys. They just needed to practice putting it on, even if if was the wrong color. Very entertaining for me though!

JJS and LJ with their beautiful makeup on... JJS looked super pale and sickly, LJ looked like a carrot and is modeling his makeup line. Fantastic.

Woah, slacker

EIGHTY FIVE

Ya... Sorry about the slacking. It's been a crazy week. Friday, March 26th I got home from rehearsal early at 4:15 and just... sat. I did some show organization until mom got home. Then the two of us went to Old Chicago for dinner and then came home. I played Wii and listened to the radio for about an hour before watching a movie and going to bed. I went to bed at 11:07 on a Friday night. It was a loner evening, but I needed rest and to de-stress myself. It worked!

Sleepy, Sleepy Boy

EIGHTY FOUR

Thursday, March 25th was another night where I almost forgot a picture. I actually did my homework thursday night! Then watched Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice on ABC from 8-10 and then went to bed. Max has taken to sleeping really close lately. I moved his bed to a cart next to my dresser, so now he sleeps on top of the comforter against my leg and my pillow. It's cute and keeps me warm, but he takes up a lot of room and limits my movement... Oh well. I love him!

Everything's Alright

EIGHTY THREE

Wednesday, March 24th was a crazy stressful day. Production meeting for JCS during my open hour took away homework time, so I didn't go to church. :-( I didn't get a whole lot done, mostly because I was just too overwhelmed to have any ambition. But I went to sleep somewhat early and was THIS close to forgetting a picture. So this is my accumulation of papers and notebooks and other miscellaneous crap on the floor beside my bed. Pretty, no?

(Again, Everything's Alright is a song from JCS. Our KPJ does a fantastic job singing it, it is beautiful! Tickets HERE!!

Strange Things Mystifying...

EIGHTY TWO

So I woke up Tuesday morning with sores in the middle of my palms. They looked like bruises, but hurt like a deep cut. It was weird. I think my hands were clenched all night and my fingernails made the bruises. It's just weird though.

Tuesday I had rehearsal then work. CM and I worked together again and it was a great night. Lots of prep work and friends stopping by and yummy cookies. AND gossip. Which is why I love work so much. I'm actually going to miss it after i quit i think. :-(

(JCS has now taken over my life. Strange Things Mystifying is a really good song! Tickets HERE

New Binder!! Excitement is high.

EIGHTY ONE

Monday, March 22nd was my first day using the new 1.5 inch 3-ring binder my mom got me for my JCS prompt book. The thing is getting HUGE. Monday was also the first day of rehearsal after not having any rehearsals from wednesday to saturday last week (all the leads were in New York on the choir trip). It was interesting. Went WAY better than I thought it would, they didn't forget too much!

The show is going to ROCK!! GET YOUR TICKETS HERE ASAP

Normality At Its Best

EIGHTY

Sunday, March 21st was another simple Sunday. Church, where I taught the little girls sign language to a song for Signs of Praise (we perform songs for the congregation every month or so) and then went to work. Then came home and did homework... Work was fun, IW and I talked a lot about EVERYTHING. College, spring break, the normal.

Above is my Human Anatomy textbook. I was reading about muscle structure. Interesting, huh?

Placement Tests and Boredom

SEVENTY NINE

Saturday, March 20th I took my placement tests in the morning then we drove home where I was super bored for the rest of the day. So bored that I... CLEANED. The desk and organized things. I found JK's concert ticket in my car randomly, it must have fallen out of her purse. So I sent her a picture of it. Haha. This is that picture...

Then later, JK, KS, MC, SF, and I all went bowling at Tuttle's where I got sprayed with Chem Fog and got killed by KS. I didn't bowl well, but it was super fun. I miss those girls.

To Grandmother's House We Go...

SEVENTY EIGHT

Friday, March 19th Mom, Dani Kate, and I drove to Eau Claire so I could take my placement tests at the university at 8am Saturday morning. Grandma Bev had yummy food waiting and soft beds. :-)

Dani Kate drove the whole way there... In MY car. I had to sit in the backseat of my own car for 2 hours. It was sad. And a tiny bit scary. But we survived! And she did a GREAT job. :-)

STYROFOAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SEVENTY SEVEN

You should ALL be VERY jealous. KD and I got to Stage Management (SM) class on thursday (march 18th) and the first thing MK said to us was "I have to show you the most amazing thing ever in the shop." We knew it HAD to be good. It was.

IT WAS STYROFOAM. We hate styrofoam though. Carving it for set pieces is NOT FUN. BUT BUT BUT! This styrofoam was like... 10 feet tall and in 5x5x10 foot columns. There were about 10 of them. What were we to do?

MAKE A MAZE. It took KD and I 2 minutes and then we ran through it like 5 times. Then made MK go through it. He came out giggling. Our goal was achieved. Then we went and got DB and TB (the Arts Center event coordinator) to go through it. They both loved it. After all this excitement, we were finally able to sit down for class.

(Above is KD in the maze wondering which way to go!!)

St. Patrick's Day?

SEVENTY SIX

Wednesday, March 17th
Miriam is cute. :-) She was a sleepy baby in small group.
Wednesday was St. Patrick's Day. Or so I found out when I got to school. It was super uneventful.

Miriam finally woke up within the first 10 minutes of small group and THIS is what we got to play with. She was so happy and smiley! I loved it. EK and TT got some great pictures of her too!

6'4" is still not enough

SEVENTY FIVE

I'm behind again. I know. I'm getting there!!

Tuesday, March 16th
Our school opened up the new commons remodel a month or two ago, and just a few weeks ago we got furniture. AKA benches and high tables to stand at. My group of friends always met at a table in a certain location after 3rd hour each day, but on tuesday that table disappeared. We were at a loss. Not really, we dealt with it. But AB was a little upset. So on our way to Stage Management class, KD and I saw AB trying to get a table over to where our table used to be. The tables are HEAVY. And even though AB is like... 6'4" and HUGE... He struggled. So I had to get a picture of it. KD and I were laughing SO hard. It was fantastic.

Welcoming Organization Back

SEVENTY FOUR

I'm weird, I've accepted it. A few years ago I had this purple notebook that I would write all my lists and plans and stuff in. If I was stressing at night about the hectic day to come, I would just write down all the things I had to do so that I could fall asleep. That old purple notebook got filled up, so i started a new one in an old notebook of my sister's. It's not completely purple, but the name stuck. I lost it after sweetheart's last year (mom... you cleaned up and I lost track of it after that. There is such a thing as organized chaos: my room.), and i found it yesterday! I brought it back, and now have many new lists going. It has made today much easier already. Haha.

OH! Just to let you all know, I caught up a lot today on stuff. So the world is good again. AND it was 60 degrees today. I love life.

Senioritis... Ick.

SEVENTY THREE

I'm so behind in school. I have 2 tests to make up and a week of homework to do. Okay, I'm not that behind. The tests, yes. But all the homework? I don't know. It's not that much though. With JCS work and school and a social life and work at the cafe... and spring break prep and scholarship stuff... It just seems like I'm up to my nose in work. Haha.

SO. Sunday night I did Bible Lit homework and nothing else. It was glorious. Stressful cause I knew I should do more, but I didn't have the ambition. Hence senioritis. Oh well.

Here is Max! He looked so cute and happy.

SKIPPER NATION!!!!!

SEVENTY TWO

Saturday night was the state hockey game vs. Edina. Tonka had WAY more fans. It rocked. At the end of the second period, Tonka was down 4-0. BUT! The boys pulled it together and made a fantastic comeback in the third period and made 2 goals in the third period, AND kept Edina from scoring again. But... It wasn't enough to win.

There were some struggles with seats at the beginning... Lets just say Xcel security is REALLY unreasonable and section 222 was a struggle.

Before the game, JK and I went to MOA to go shopping. We each got new dresses for our Mexico spring break trip. I can't wait to go... It's gonnna rock. :-)

Big Bowl Round 3

SEVENTY ONE

Rehearsal again after school... Then a group of us went out to Big Bowl for a surprise birthday dinner for LE. His birthday was Thursday, but we had to settle for a Friday party. After a delicious dinner, we all went back to SL's house for cake and the hockey game. If they won the game that night vs. Hill-Murray, they were going to the final state tournament to play against Edina. The end of the third period comes, and the game was tied 1-1. The game went into overtime, and no one scored. Second OT, no score. Thurd OT, no score. Fourth OT Tonka scored to win the game!!!!! The boys played from 8:30ish to 12:15ish. It was insane.

Above is us all sitting in SL's basement watching the game at like 11:50. We were tired. I tried out the panorama setting on my camera phone, and this is what came out. It's pretty cool I think.

Just So We Don't Get Lost...

SEVENTY

JW and I went to the basketball game Thursday, March 11th after yet another JCS rehearsal. The JCS staff had a production meeting today during my open hour, so I spent lunch in the Arts Center (the theater) conference room taking notes on everything everyone said. It was actually really fun. My favorite moment of the meeting was when Pat, the hair lady, said that JW's hair is always perfect. She said it in such a funny and passionate way, I laughed right then and there.

I took this picture in the parking garage elevator lobby, so I could remember what level we were on. JW made fun of me. I still love her! :-)

Post-Shopping Shopping

SIXTY NINE

All caught up!!!!!! Sorry for being such a slacker lately...

SO... I love dresses. A lot. I'm pretty sure I'm going to take last year's Christmas AND birthday money and get like 2 or 3 this weekend... Or at least I really, REALLY want to. If I had the resources, I would only wear dresses in the summer. I love them. JK and I plan on going shopping for SPRING BREAK on Saturday. I'm for sure getting a dress. And a few tank tops. Other than that, I'm pretty set. I'm PUMPED.

Countdown: 23 days

SIXTY EIGHT

As of Tuesday, 23 days until SPRING BREAK. And I cannot wait. Spring break is the only thing getting me through these next few weeks. My work ethic has gone down to nearly zero because I'm so stressed. Lovely, no?

This is the swimsuit I have been waiting for!!! I ordered it BEFORE I learned it was back ordered and wouldn't be delivered until AFTER spring break. I was very upset. Until I got a present in the mail and it arrived a month before it was supposed to. :-)

Feedback Anyone?

SIXTY SEVEN

This is what I found under my wiper blade in the student lot after school on Monday. I ran into the theater and asked everyone if they did it. No one did.

Background story: a while ago some kids found the Techie Bible online with all these "verses." Basically they are numbers assigned to random things that happen in theatre. 260 happens to mean feedback (audio buzzing from the microphones or speakers). Last year we would always yell "260!!!" at JH whenever we heard feedback just to frustrate him/be funny (he ran sound, and REALLY well). We also got all the actors to say "260" instead of counting up from one during their mic checks, out of love for JH of course.

JH visited the school on monday and left me a present on my car.

And the Oscar goes to...

SIXTY SIX

Oscar Night!!! (Sunday, March 7th). I realized halfway through that I had an anatomy test I had to study for... Not good. I proceeded to go downstairs to make copies of worksheets to quiz myself with, much to the disdain of my rather unhappy father. But I passed the test!!! 97%. :-)

Best Night Ever

SIXTY FIVE

Saturday, March 6th I had rehearsal, work, relaxation time, and then the party started. I was going to go over to EF's for dinner and hang out time before the new SNL, but then I found out mom's friend LRC and her granddaughter, Gena, were coming over. I couldn't NOT see Gena. She is the COOLEST 3-year-old you will ever meet. There she is above. We played on the computer chair in the living room after she beet her imaginary friend and fooseball.

Then I went to EF's house in time to help clean up the kitchen after a mac and cheese disaster (don't ask how...). We then got back to the basics of elementary school. We played Bop It for like 30 minutes, MB stuck a wrapper to her nose and blew on it to look like an elephant (pictured above with LA), and we played Apples to Apples for like an hour and a half before we watched the new SNL! It was a FANTASTIC night.

We decided there were a few cards that ALWAYS won Apples to Apples no matter what the description card was. They were: AIDS and Hellen Keller. Above is our hand for Miserable. Funniest hand all night. The South and Hellen Keller were the two finalist. Hellen won by a landslide.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS!!!!

SIXTY FOUR

Such a fun night. And so tiring. I was really tired to begin with, so I mostly read between tables. I waited on The Ambassadors (old people in church), which was a group of 13 (with two other servers) for the first seating, and my friend LP's group of six with GB for the second seating. It was great to see all the college boys back for the night. It felt like junior year again.

Bonus Picture!

I got so many that I loved, it was hard to even narrow it to 2.

Almost It!

SIXTY THREE

Almost time for my last Great Expectations. It was weird to think about. My high school years have almost been measured by Great Expectations from year to year. GE is a fund-raising dinner my church puts on to raise money for the mission trips each year. We decorate the gym and lobby and hallways extensively to fit our theme each year. This year it was Mexican outdoor themed. I can't remember how to spell the actual name. We usually raise between 10 and 30 thousand dollars. This year we got to $10,000 and our goal was $19,000.

ANYWAY! Above is set up night, getting the pyramid lit. It was gorgeous. (for Thursday, March 4th)

Darkness

SIXTY TWO

I was so tired when I took this picture... It's for Wednesday, March 3rd. It was the first week of rehearsals and a Wednesday church night... No Miriam though. It was set up for Great Expectations night one! So we did some manual labor and were there slightly later. Good day though altogether.

P.S. If you really look, you can see that this is my headboard and window behind it. I literally took my phone, aimed it behind me, and clicked. The end.

The Last Song

SIXTY ONE

SUCH a good book. Not the greatest in the world, but for sure worth reading. I didn't see the ending coming at all, which I usually can with Nicholas Sparks books. My baby is in the background. He's been spending more time with us lately, I think he sensed how close he came to leaving us.

Sorry for all the camera phone pictures... It happens.

OH! This was taken on Tuesday, March 2nd.

Summer ASAP

SIXTY

These are my girls from Daycamp last year. I remember half of their names... I feel that's pretty normal. Haha. They were all so cute. To the left is 4th and 5th graders, and to the right is 1st and 2nd graders. I'm hoping I can at least do one week of Daycamp this year, I'll be sad if I can't.

The Last Night?

FIFTY NINE

Here is my baby. :-) I spent the week between the 21st and Sunday, February 28th stressing out about Max being taken away. My parents want to get rid of him before I go to college, and Sunday the 28th was the day they chose. But I got to keep him!! :-) Here we are after I got done cutting and filing my nails. For some reason, Max loves when I do that. It's our quality relaxing time together.

Bonus Picture!

He's reaching for the nail file. What a cutie!!!

I just realized, the 28th was his birthday!!! Max is now 8 (or 9?) years old!!! Oh how time flies.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Yummy Saturday

FIFTY EIGHT

Mo, one of my favorite chef's at work, was working on Saturday, February 27th. I hadn't seen her in WEEKS. It was a fun day. Me, SS, and LM all worked together, and Mo made lots of desserts. This is what our back table looked like. Special K, cherry crisp, a chocolate cookie, and lots of other goodies. Yumm.

I went to Much Ado again Saturday night. Sat in the crew fort backstage. It was a good night. My last time backstage during a high school show. It was bittersweet.

Late Night Tub

FIFTY SEVEN

The last ski club!! So sad. But great. We all went over to JL's to sit in her hot tub after. It was a fantastic feeling.

Bonus Picture!!

RS and KL. I don't understand how they get into situations like this. Or why. They tied their sweatpants' strings together. Such a funny morning.

Caramel Delights!

FIFTY SIX

Caramel Delights, not Samoas. It's a bad name. My mom surprised me by ordering me a box, it made my day!

John 17:20-23

FIFTY FIVE

No baby Miriam on Wednesday, February 24th... No Krista either. We lead ourselves in small group and wasted time. :-)

WOAH. I just looked at my calendar, and I should tell you what happened during this week. Tuesday we had a training to help lead small groups for an inspirational speaker (Keith Hawkins - HE'S SO COOL!) which was really fun. We just looked like idiots all night. So much fun. Then I got out of the first half of school for Wednesday and Thursday to go to the assembly. Bad idea. I got way behind in homework, and (a week and a half later) I'm still behind. Lovely.

CRACK! No, someone did not just aparate.

FIFTY FOUR

My camera is cracked. I noticed it on Sunday, but I finally got around to documenting the damage on Tuesday, February 23rd. It's lovely, no? It ran into a brick wall after my friend tripped me while I was carrying it. Sad, sad day.

Thank You Fly

FIFTY THREE

We love you Grant. Sunday was the one-year anniversary of Grant's death, so all us techies wore our crew shirts to school on Monday, the 22nd in honor of him.

Say Cheese!

FIFTY TWO

Dani got a new camera on Sunday, February 21st. We did a girls shopping day and mom left us in the car while she went into Cub. Dani had fun playing with the camera. Notice where she is sitting: the drivers seat. Scariest day of my life.

Much Ado About Nothing

FIFTY ONE

Saturday, February 20th I went to the play in the Black Box (a second, smaller theater in the high school) today that I had been helping to build for the past two months. I should have gotten a picture of my finished columns for you all to see! They were gorgeous. The cast and crew did an AMAZING job. Congrats guys! :-)

Above is the crew after their show, I am taking the picture from the balcony!

Suit Up! -Barney Stinson

I'm getting back on track now. Or trying to. I still have a picture for every day!!! But... I'm just REALLY behind. I'm sorry everyone! I'll fill you in on WHY in each post.

FIFTY

Friday, February 19th was the second to last ski club. The boys (HR, JH, PH, CW and SE-not pictured) decided to dress up. So they made Salvation Army trips and got ridiculous suits. Except JH. He decided to be a pimp and throw fake money to people while snowboarding. People didn't like that once they realized it was fake.

Tissues Anyone?

FORTY NINE

So I got sick. It's been rough. Much Ado About Nothing opened Friday. Since I was sick Thursday, I couldn't go to work, so I spent the afternoon helping put finishing touches on the set.
Above is a candle holder in my bathroom right next to the tissue box. It's been a common sight for me this week.
